The Thurrock Art Society
(Images to come)
Thurrock Art Society was founded in 1970.
Members spend their evenings painting, drawing or socialising with other people of like interest. The meetings are held at St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church Hall, High Street, Grays Town Centre, RM17 6LN on Friday evenings (apart from the last Friday of each month) between 7.00 and 9.00 p.m throughout the year.
I’m inspired by intermediate states, synchronicities and the flux between chaos and order I perceive in the world. Shamanic ritual, meditation and mystical experiences all influence my work.
I have been drawing since I was a child, but only understood it as a means of self-expression in recent years, after which point my art took on a life of it’s own.

Hello my name is Emily Meaney, to introduce my little brand Miss Meaney’s, I’m an illustrator and homewares designer from Essex.
My brand Miss Meaney’s takes pride in being designed, printed and handmade in Britain, as well as being printed on 100% natural fabrics and recycled paper. Our bespoke home-wares include 100% cotton tea towels, linen napkin sets and natural linen cushions.
I also have a range of affordable greeting cards, postcards and recycled notebooks just launched May 2017.
The core of my inspiration is influenced by the beautiful landscapes and seascapes of Britain. I also have a passion for natural wildlife and botanical florals all found on our little island.
Since launching my first collection ‘ Coastal’, I have sold my products at various Designers Makers markets, such as at Spitalfields and Truman Brewery, Bricklane. Last year I took the jump, and was fortunate to sell at the trade show, The Handmade Fair at Hampton Court palace.
